Established in November 2024, the Montgomery Whitewater Foundation (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is the charitable arm of Montgomery Whitewater — a world-class outdoor recreation facility that welcomes local residents and international visitors alike. Incorporated in the State of Alabama and recognized as a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, we strengthen Alabama’s River Region through outdoor recreation, education, and workforce innovation — creating opportunities for learning, leadership, and economic growth in Montgomery. This website is operated to further that mission, including by accepting charitable donations and sharing information about our work.

4.1  Donation Processing

Charitable donations made through this website are processed by GiveWP, a donation management platform, in conjunction with Stripe, a third-party payment processor. By submitting a donation, you authorize us to charge your designated payment method for the amount you specify. All transactions are encrypted and processed in accordance with applicable Payment Card Industry (PCI) data security standards.

4.2  Tax-Exempt Status

Montgomery Whitewater Foundation is recognized as a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Donations made to us are generally tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. We recommend consulting a tax advisor regarding the deductibility of your contribution. A receipt will be emailed to you for donations of any amount; please retain it for your tax records.

4.3  Recurring Donations

If you elect to set up a recurring donation, your payment method will be charged automatically at the frequency you select (e.g., monthly, annually) until you cancel. You may cancel a recurring donation at any time by contacting us at whitewatergives@gmail.com or by managing your donation through the link provided in your donation confirmation email.

4.4  Refund Policy

Because donations are intended to support our charitable mission, they are generally non-refundable. However, we will consider refund requests made within 30 days of the transaction date on a case-by-case basis. To request a refund, please contact us at whitewatergives@gmail.com with your name, date of donation, amount, and reason for the request. We reserve the right to deny refund requests at our sole discretion.

4.5  Donation Use

We will use donations to advance our charitable mission. While we welcome donors to indicate a preference for how funds are used, we reserve the right to allocate contributions to the area of greatest need unless a formal restricted gift agreement is executed in writing.
